What to Expect Before Your First Mobile Beauty Appointment

Booking a beauty treatment should be exciting, relaxing and something to look forward to. Whether you're planning a fresh set of nails, beautiful lashes or another treatment, your appointment actually begins long before I arrive at your door.
Over the years, I've learnt that the best beauty treatments don't happen by chance. They start with good communication, careful planning and taking the time to understand each client's individual needs.
As a mobile beauty therapist with over 20 years in the beauty industry and more than 10 years running my own mobile beauty business, I don't believe in rushing the process. Every step before your appointment has a purpose, helping to keep your treatment safe, personalised and enjoyable from start to finish.

Every Appointment Starts with a Consultation Card
Before we arrange your first mobile beauty appointment, I'll ask you to complete a consultation card.
This isn't simply paperwork or a form to tick boxes.
It's an important part of getting to know you and making sure the treatment you've chosen is suitable for your individual needs.
Your consultation allows me to understand your beauty goals, previous treatments, allergies, medical conditions and any other information that may affect your appointment.
The more I know before we meet, the better I can prepare and provide a treatment that's tailored specifically to you.
Every Consultation Is Carefully Reviewed
Once your consultation has been submitted, I'll carefully review everything before offering you an appointment.
Sometimes everything is perfect and we can move straight on to booking.
Occasionally, I may recommend a different treatment, ask a few additional questions or advise postponing or declining a treatment if I don't believe it's suitable or safe.
I also work within a defined mobile service area. If you live outside my usual coverage, I may still be able to accommodate your appointment depending on my diary, travel time and distance. As these appointments require additional travel and more time away from my regular working area, an additional travel charge may apply. This allows me to continue providing a reliable service to my regular local clients while making sure I only accept appointments that I can comfortably accommodate.
The same applies to appointments requested outside my normal working hours. Whenever possible I'll always try to help, but appointments outside my standard working hours may also be subject to an additional charge.
Quite simply, I'm passionate about what I do, but I also believe it's important to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Taking time to rest and recharge allows me to continue providing every client with the professional service, care and attention they deserve.
Sometimes the answer may still be no, and that's perfectly okay. I'd much rather politely decline a booking than accept an appointment that I can't provide to the high standard my clients expect.
Why I Ask About Parking
One of the biggest differences between visiting a salon and booking a mobile beauty therapist is that I bring the salon to you.
Along with my beauty products come professional equipment, tools and everything needed to carry out your treatment.
To make this possible, I ask every client to provide clear parking information during the consultation process.
My treatment prices do not include parking charges. I kindly ask that free parking is available on my arrival whenever possible.
If parking at your property requires payment, this must be arranged and paid for before my arrival, and a digital copy of the parking confirmation should be sent to me in advance. This helps avoid delays and ensures I can begin your appointment on time.
If free parking isn't available or parking arrangements aren't practical, don't worry—you're always welcome to visit Mobile Beauty by Lidiya instead. I can provide your treatment from the comfort of my own beauty space, and I'll happily send you directions together with information about convenient free parking available nearby.
Having safe and convenient parking means I can arrive on time, carry my equipment safely and focus entirely on providing your treatment rather than worrying about parking restrictions.
It may seem like a small detail, but it plays an important part in ensuring your appointment runs smoothly.
Patch Testing – An Important Step
Some treatments, including lash extensions and tinting services, require a patch test before an appointment can be confirmed.
Patch testing is essential because it helps protect both you and me.
It reduces the risk of allergic reactions and ensures I continue to meet the requirements of my professional insurance.
Even if you've had similar treatments elsewhere, different products can produce different reactions, so it's always better to take a few extra minutes beforehand than take unnecessary risks.
Even if you're already one of my regular clients, a new patch test will be required if you haven't received the relevant treatment for more than six months. Skin, health and sensitivities can all change over time, so carrying out another patch test helps ensure your treatment remains safe.
Booking Your Appointment
Once your consultation has been reviewed, parking has been confirmed and any required patch testing has been completed, the easiest way to secure your appointment is by booking online through my website or by using my FREE app.
I've invested a great deal of time developing these systems to make booking as simple and convenient as possible. You can manage everything yourself, whenever it suits you, without waiting for replies or arranging appointments manually.
Over the years, I'm pleased to have built a wonderful and loyal client base. Using online booking and my FREE app helps reduce administration, allowing me to spend more time focusing on my clients, continuing to develop my business and, just as importantly, making time to recharge so I can continue providing the high standard of service my clients deserve.
Preparing for Your Appointment
There's very little you need to do before I arrive.
For lash treatments, a quiet space where you can lie back and relax is ideal.
For nail treatments, a suitable table, comfortable chair and good lighting are always helpful.
I'll bring all the professional products, equipment and everything needed for your treatment, so you can simply relax and enjoy the salon experience in the comfort of your own home.
If you're booking your first nail appointment with me, I kindly ask that your natural nails are completely free from any existing nail products. This allows me to properly assess the health and condition of your natural nails before applying my own professional products.
If you choose to have your nails done elsewhere between appointments, that's absolutely your choice. However, before every appointment with me, I will always require your nails to be completely bare. This policy isn't negotiable, as I only work over products that I have personally applied.
Unfortunately, there are many different professional nail systems available, alongside counterfeit products that can closely resemble genuine brands. As I cannot verify exactly what products have been used or how they have been applied, I do not remove, refill, rebalance or work over products applied by another nail technician. This policy protects both your natural nails and the professional standard of my work.
If you're returning for another CND™ Shellac appointment and your existing Shellac was previously applied by me, removal is included as part of your appointment.
If you're wearing CND™ Plexigel previously applied by me, complete removal isn't normally required. Simply book a Plexigel Rebalancing (also known as an Infill) appointment.
If you would prefer your CND™ Plexigel to be completely removed, this treatment is also available as a separate service within my treatment menu.

One small tip before you get started...
The most common issue I come across is clients accidentally creating a second account during the registration process. This usually happens because a different email address or password is used from the one originally used to create their website account or previous booking.
When this happens, the system believes you're a completely new client, meaning your appointment history and Beauty Loyalty Points won't appear on the new account.
To avoid this, simply take your time during registration and use exactly the same email address and password you originally used on my website. It only takes a moment and keeps everything together exactly as it should.
